How It Started
Military Children's Six Foundation
The Military Child World Expo Foundation (MCWEF) is the National Association for Military-Connected Children a permanent national institution dedicated to the wellbeing, identity, and belonging of military-connected children and their families across the United States and around the world.
Its flagship convening, the Military Child World Expo, was created by the Military Children's Six Foundation and is now governed and operated by MCWEF.
The Torch of Care National Tour 2027 carries the Foundation's recognition event, honoring military-connected teen caregivers and, new for 2027, foster youth and kinship families ("The Unseen Among Us"), to ten military communities on ten Saturdays, April 17 through December 11, 2027, Launching April 17 at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia, the Home of the Military Child. The Expo is not the mission. It is the gathering place.
