FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arlington, VA — 2026
The Military Child World Expo Designated as the Cultural Home of the Military Child During America’s 250th Anniversary
The Military Children’s Six Foundation announces the Military Child World Expo 2026 as the national cultural gathering dedicated to honoring the experiences, identities, and legacies of military-connected children and families across generations.
Held in Arlington, Virginia, a place of national memory, service, and reflection, the Expo marks a historic moment: the first national recognition of the Military Child as both a lived experience and a lasting identity.
For more than 250 years, children have served beside those who serve. They have crossed borders, rebuilt friendships, carried unseen burdens, and adapted to worlds in motion. Yet their stories have often gone unrecognized, remembered only in pieces, held quietly in personal memory.
The Military Child World Expo brings these stories into the open. It affirms that:
The Military Child is not a footnote to service
The Military Child is part of America’s heritage
The Expo includes:
The Carrying the Torch of Care - Caregivers Breakfast honoring teen and adult caregivers
The Promise of the Six Pavilion & Youth Summit, a space for identity, belonging, creativity, and leadership
The America’s Torchbearers Showcase, celebrating the voices and cultural expressions of youth and adults
This commemorative year also launches the MCWE 2026 Legacy Edition Show Guide, a printed cultural keepsake that honors the multi-generational story of the Military Child and will be preserved in family homes, libraries, classrooms, and community spaces across the country.
“The Military Child is a carrier of memory, culture, resilience, and history,” said Colonel Adrienne Schaffer, Esq. (U.S. Army Ret.), Executive Director of the Military Children’s Six Foundation.“This is a moment to honor not only who they are, but who they become.”
As America celebrates 250 years of service and shared national identity, MCWE 2026 stands as a testament to the children who have carried the legacy of service forward, in silence, in strength, and in continuity.
Your legacy continues in the next generation.
