Home of the Military Child

Where Memory, Service, Community, and Legacy Converge.

Arlington, Virginia is more than a place on the map.
It is a crossroads of service, identity, and national story, a living landscape of memory, movement, and continuity.

It holds:

  • The Pentagon, where national defense decisions are shaped.

  • Arlington National Cemetery, where honor, loss, legacy, and remembrance stand side by side.

  • Communities of active duty, reserve, veteran, diplomatic, and government service families, whose daily lives reflect quiet strength and resilience.

  • Schools filled with globally-minded youth, whose identities are shaped by movement, belonging, and cultural fluency.

Here, the story of the military child is not abstract.
It is present, visible, lived, and honored.

Virginia
A Cultural Homecoming

The Military Child World Expo has been held in Arlington for three consecutive years, establishing this city as the permanent cultural home of the military child.

Families return not only for the event, but for connection, recognition, and belonging.

Adults who grew up military return to reconnect with themselves.

Youth arrive and say, often for the first time:

“These are my people. This is my story. I am not alone.”

Why Arlington Matters

MCWE

Arlington is where:

  • The past is remembered

  • The present is honored

  • The future is being shaped

It is a place where:

  • Public service is lived, not performed

  • Community is not accidental; it is practiced

  • Identity is understood as movement, heritage, and continuum

This makes Arlington the rightful home for a gathering that honors:

  • Belonging

  • Memory

  • Creativity

  • Culture

  • Leadership

  • Legacy

The Home of the Cultural Movement.

In Arlington, the Military Child World Expo stands as:

  • A space of belonging for those who grew up across bases, states, and nations.

  • A place of recognition for families, caregivers, educators, and alumni.

  • A meeting point for global and local community life.

  • A cultural home for a legacy carried across generations.

This is not a static history.
This is a living inheritance.

We Call Arlington Home

The Military Child World Expo will continue to be rooted in Arlington because:

  1. This is where the story lives.

  2. This is where the story is honored.

  3. This is where the story is carried forward.

Arlington is, and will remain:

The Home of the Military Child.

Rich in Legacy. Rooted in Belonging. Rising as One.
