MILACON represents the innovation and leadership pathway of the military child. It connects military-connected youth with science, technology, creativity, and leadership opportunities that follow them throughout their lives, whether they choose military service or civilian careers.
MILACON celebrates the unique identity of the military child, often known proudly as the military brat, and provides a community where imagination, innovation, and service intersect.
Inspired by the creativity behind comic universes and the real-world power of STEM and STEAM, MILACON highlights the truth that the heroes of tomorrow are not fictional, they are the builders, coders, engineers, creators, and leaders growing up in military families today.
The MILACON Pathway
MILACON is built around a six-stage lifecycle of leadership and innovation.
1. The Military Child
The journey begins with the military-connected child, a young person growing up in a family shaped by service, resilience, and global experiences.
Military children often move frequently, adapt to new cultures, and develop independence and leadership early in life. These experiences create a foundation for innovation and problem-solving.
MILACON recognizes these children as future builders of the world.
2. MILACON Cadets
Military-connected youth who engage in STEM, STEAM innovation, and creative exploration become MILACON Cadets.
